Scope Ring Height

I bought a compact Ruger American rifle.Plan to put a 1 inch tube,40mm objective scope on it. Medium or high rings?

    You need to know the actual height of the ring from the center of the ring to the bottom of the base. There is no standard set dimensions for ring height.

    I have a Ruger American  with a 40mm scope I'm using leupould med rings and have plenty of room

    Consider your question answered! Medium is correct. On 99% of guns medium will work up to 42mm.
