Always good news on a positive colonoscopy. When I was 52 my mom pushed real hard for me to get the test, I did and got a clean bill of health for ten years. When I asked mom about the prep she said "I don't know anything about it I've never done it!" She is 85 now so if that is what gets her so be it. 0 -

Congrats !! I too had the covid test done and I don't know if it was this particular lady that swabbed me or it's the same for everyone, that was one nasty sensation to have the over size Q tips wiggling so far up my nose, yuk !

I have been thinking about taking the test, but I am somewhat confused on the possible answers.
Do masks do any good?
Do you have to cover your mouth and nose with a mask . . . or is it OK to wear it on your chin?
Can it be transmitted, if you are asymptomatic?
Is "social distancing" required, if you attend some funerals . . . but not others?
Does it take two weeks to get a test result back . . . or can infection be determined within two days (or shortly after the beaches open)?
Does everybody die . . . or can you actually survive an infection?
Is Covid - 19 the same as the Corona virus? If it is not, what is the difference? If it is, why are there two names?
Are all deaths in the last three months attributed to the virus . . . or have people died from something else in the last two months?0 -

I got tested and I had it in early Feb. It messed me up. I lost about 25-30 pounds. My appitite has not come back, I have some weird nerve problem on my hip, my stomach is upset alot and I feel kind of achy at times. I also have a reaction to advil, if I take it I will get the chills and sweats.It has really changed how I feel.I am and have been healthy as a horse this stuff was the 1st time I have been sick in 25 years or more. Never get the flu or colds.

I've been tested 7 times so far. The test is only really good for just that day, not a period of time.

I agree good news on both.
Got tested for the immune test and it’s was negative. I do some part time work at a MEPS and we have had 5 people come throughout that have tested positive when they got to boot camp. I wanted to know if I had been exposed and had any immunity.0 -

I was asked when I got the symptoms. I told them and they confirmed 4 other people got it where I did or at least think they did.I have lost my sense of taste too and I feel like crap about 30% of the time. Never had problems breathing though so no ventilator time for me.
One other thing I can say is my appendix got infected and had to be removed, which is not normal for a 60 y/o.I want to see my Dad, he is in a dementia ward and I have called them to see if I can come to see him. I think in a few weeks they will let me.I am not complaining but this stuff took the starch out of me and is still effecting me.

Glad to hear you are still with us. Seems that most of those that do not know anyone that has gotten very sick, or died from this believe it's not anything worse than a cold, or even a complete hoax.
Come September or so, they're going to get another chance to assess those thoughts I'm afraid, short of a miracle.
ETA: I know a number of folks that have had it, and one person that died from it directly. No other issues, just COVID-19. I was 'technically exposed' myself, but tested negative and so far have avoided it even though I have worked through the entire pandemic to date.Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Mark.My Blood type is A- so I am a high risk of getting it. My wife was exposed(by me) but never really got sick(B+ blood type).They say the virus will settle in your spine and I think it has happened that is why I have the weird nerve issues. My sense of taste is slowly coming back but I have no appetite.I have been getting out working in the yard and playing golf, I freeze in the house, wife keeps it on 74.

There has been no relation found between blood type & covid-19.If you are < 55 & are obese, your chances of becoming infected with covid-19 double.The virus doesn't "settle" anywhere. In many patients, nerves & organs throughout the body are affected; this may last for a long time; this area is not yet fully understood.Tests are made by many companies. Some can be processed on the spot within 15 minute, others need to be sent to a lab & you get results in up to 5 days.If your results are positive, but you do not any symptoms after 14 days, they may tell you that you are "asymptomatic". While that may be true, the real test result is "false positive".If your results are negative, but you feel sick, talk to your doctor, he will advise you what to do.

I got it in early feb/late Jan and I think I got it at a restaurant in Raleigh.I got the test done to see if I had it number 1 and if I am still contagious(I am not at least they say so).As far as my health goes before I got it I was healthy as a horse, I am 60 y/o now 5'10" 190 so I am not obese nor do I have a heart condition or diabetes. I exercise, walk 3-5 miles a day and play golf(walk) once a week at least.
