Each moderator is free to moderate as he or she deems fit, so if the moderator finds something offensive and wants it gone...it is gone. Personally, I find the meme thread to be on par with Sugar Bear: a total waste of bandwidth.
I don't look at every thread or post because half of what is on the boards is boring and repetitive, having been posted by members who are themselves boring and repetitive. Montanajoe has far more patience than I do. He's shepherding the meme thread and whatever he says goes.
In the 8 years I've been an administrator I have overruled a moderator once and I later regretted it. I'm not inclined to overrule a moderator again, so that members will have to live with edits and deletions of posts, as well as threads being moved to sub forums.0
