Kielbasa Afficianados-
One meat that has not changed price is the Johnsonville Kielbasa line. You can still buy 2 for $5. That is 2 lbs. of meat for $2.50/lb.
I have four assorted in the refrigerator.
What are your favorite recipes, if you would care to share.
Please share your recipes, if you would be so kind.
Mine:
Rough diced sausage 2-3", a rough diced onion, 2-3 rough diced russett potatoes. EVOO. Cast iron skillet in the oven for 45 min at 350°. Stone ground mustard of course.
Works good with sauerkraut also.

Yeah. I REALLY need to fire up my as yet unused Masterbuilt Smoker. I'm sure that would rock.
Like a DA, I did not get a cover for my Smoker, so it has been living in my Living room, for ah, uhmn, awhile.
Lot's of stuff I should be smoking. (Maybe even some meat.) 😅
(Never heard that one Chief.) Boiling meat? Heathen............................................................(kidding.)

We grill it then have it with some cocktail sauce and home made pierogi’s. Being polish have a lot of polish friends that make and smoke homemade kielbasa and make handmade pierogis. We pan fry the pierogi’s in butter.
As a kid we used to have beans and kielbasa for lunch most Saturday’s. One Saturday we had just sat down with the kielbasa in the middle of the table. Just then a fire truck went by neighbor had a chimney fire, we ran out to see what was happening and when we got back the kielbasa was gone. The dog ate the whole thing but did not touch the beans.0 -
i love kielbasa dogs with sauteed bell peppers and onions. also kielbasa with cabbage fried in a wok. 0 -
Nobody here eats Kielbasa?
Besides burning it on the grill, throw me some of your favorite recipes. (Please.)
As long as it does not involve "boiling" it. (Sorry Chief.)

We make spicy smoked sausage (Like Famous Dave's)...Spiral score the links...marinate in "Famous Dave's" Devils Spit bbq sauce and grill until charred... Nice with any other grilled protein! At Famous Dave's they charge $15 bucks a link...! 0 -
Yes Sir. I have had the fresh from the deli stuff, up North in NY/NJ. No comparison.
No good deli's here in Mtn. City, TN.
Miss all the good Subs, and sandwiches. (Reubens etc.) The trade off of being in a Gun friendly Free State is worth it though.

I slice it up into about quarter to half inch slices, chop up onion and bell pepper, cut up small potatoes, throw it all together in a cake or foil pan, sprinkle liberally with cajun seasoning, melt stick of butter and pour all over it. Cover with foil and either cook in oven or on grill until veggies tender. Good simple stuff. 3 -
Sliced thin, cooked in large frying pan with sauerkraut and thinly sliced onion. Brown the sausage first, then add the rest, cook covered, medium heat until onion is almost clear. 0 -

Does mule lip count. Passed the deli in Ingles and just had to have me some. Sliced thick, crackers and a cold lime-ade are quite tasty. Been a long time since I had that treat. Fry it up for a sammich works good to. 0 -
I found a place that sells the best kielbasa out of San Antonio TX and supplies my local Sam's Club in Traverse City Michigan. It comes in large bun sized links and contains only pork and beef. (No Poultry) They also make a pure beef product and it is good but I prefer the mix.
I like it several ways. For breakfast, I split 2 links down the middle and fry them up on top of the stove in a cast iron frying pan. Get them golden brown and add a couple slices of buttered sourdough bread. toasted in the pan with the nearly done sausages moved to the side out of the way. When the toast is done on both sides, I remove, leaving the sausage on the side. Add a large dab of butter and melt for a pair of extra large eggs, cooked over easy. Totally YUM big breakfast!!
I also enjoy these great tasting sausages cooked on the grill and simply placed in a favored store bakeries deli hoagie buns. Buns are buttered and fried on the buttered side on the grill. A lot of different condiments of choice and what is on hand at the time added. When ripe tomatoes from the garden are around, that is all that is needed! Krout, deli pickles, fried onions\mushrooms, horse radish, mayo, a plethora of various mustards, are great all year long. A couple of these bad boys are a gut stuffing meal and go well with a cold beer or a fancy stemmed glass of wine for the ladies.
Then there is the slow cooked boiled dinner version. A slow cooker or low temp oven in a covered roasting pan. Browned sausages with added krout, potatoes, caraway seeds (optional), carrots, all topped with homemade dumplings. I just gained 5 pounds typing this!!

Best served with a pot of Great Northern White Beans. 0 -
Here its about a buck cheaper per lb. The only problem is there's only one grocery store that sells it fresh that I frequent. 0
