George Floyd Criminal Record
Taking a life is wrong but using a crime to fan the flames of rioting and mayhem and labeling police as the cause of all Floyd problems is wrong.

“What is not being told is the violent criminal history of George Floyd. The media will not air this,” police union president Bob Kroll told his members in a letter posted Monday on Twitter.
Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs, the Daily Mail reported.

What he did in the past has zero to do with the police unjustly killing him. 3 -
He(George)worked at a club in the past with the cop being charged also. Also most Blacks have a chip on their shoulder just waiting for a confrontation with a white person. If a black person had choked him to death then would not even been remembered by the press, maybe a one liner report at best.
He was wrong (The cop )to have cut off his blood stream to his brain. But messing with cops is something you should try to avoid and he was a convicted criminal to boot, that makes you even a bigger target. Also being a bouncer is not a job I ever would take. Like I said before too much testosterone being throwing around.
And with the looters and arsonist then they should be charged and arrested and even shot if failing to stop. Criminals can break serious laws and yet have a cover of safety to keep doing it each time when deadly force is misguided or used by police.
serfFloyd worked some Tuesdays as extra security. Chauvin worked as an off-duty police officer for the club for nearly 17 years, Santamaria said."I wouldn't characterize them as knowing each other," she told CNN's Josh Campbell in an interview. But, she added, "We all worked together certain nights and they would have crossed paths."0 -
I don't care what he did in his past. If the legal system said he was free to roam the streets and a cop murdered him, it has exactly zero bearing on the matter. To think otherwise is stupid beyond belief. If anything about his past is relevant it is the fact the cop knew him and it lends credence to the argument this could be considered premeditated murder. 0 -
Feel free to believe what you will Mr.Perfect. But I doubt he was turning his life around to being a solid citizen of the neighborhood. The police personnel were wrong in taking his life. But disregarding the public peace with rioting committing arson and looting is not going to make any converts to the cause of seeking justice. Two wrongs don't make a right.
The Country is in turmoil and it's been spiraling out of control for a long time and The Blacks are not going to save it by shouting no justice then no peace and then begin rioting, looting and committing arson.

That's painting with a broad brush. Frankly, I'm disappointed to read that from you.serf said:Also most Blacks have a chip on their shoulder just waiting for a confrontation with a white person.

Nobody is perfect Mark, but then since I was a young kid in 1964 I have seen a lot of civil disobedience and rioting with no resolution of discrimination on both sides of the fence. You see I look like a poster child for being the enemy, blond hair, fair skin and blue eyes. We must all realize we all fall short not just one or the other. You cannot judge a book by it's cover yet we all do.

Agree. The concept of attacking the messenger, or in this case the victim isn't going to work this time.bpost said:What he did in the past has zero to do with the police unjustly killing him.

Nothing is going to work this time around. The whole system is fixing to fail and just blame President Trump for it all. It's not just not black and white anymore. The immorality of world is at a crucial stage and marching and protesting is not going to do
Enough to make any difference.

Nothing to see here.......... move along just the SSDD ignored by the ignorant.
Cops justifiably charged. But God forbid someone should question why this is the usual by the usual.

This isn't about President Trump. It isn't about being black. It is about excessive use of force and the system that allows it and protect the perpetrators.

It's more than that. The Minorities want reparations of past discriminations to be paid in full by white people. It's not going to happen and I would not be a LEO on the beat in any inner city blight areas. Let the accused LEO's receive a fair trial by their peers and seek justice.
The rest of this movement of their protest and violence is a con job to win the election in November. This worked in the early sixties but not anymore, Everybody is hurting now because of The Cov19 virus and racism is not the problem it's the lack of morality in society as a whole and wholesale giveaways from the government with a huge debt and deficits and nothing to show for it but violence and grief.

Agreed, Mr. P, other than the premeditation part.Mr. Perfect said:I don't care what he did in his past. Premeditation would be next to impossible to prove, which it why the charge was only upped to 2nd degree murder. From the law offices of Google and Associates:
Second degree murder is generally defined as intentional murder that lacks premeditation, is intended to only cause bodily harm, and demonstrates an extreme indifference to human life. The exact legal definition of this crime will vary by jurisdiction.
If this is the definition in MN Law, the state will only need to prove that there was an intent to cause bodily harm that resulted in Floyd's death. Absent something that has here-to-fore not been seen, this would seem to be the proper charge.
With a sentencing range of up to 40+ years, and very possibly Federal Civil Rights convictions on top, we have probably seen the end of this punk walking our streets.0 -
OK, OK, but....when is enough? How many more weeks do we have to suffer through demonstrations, moments of silence, & days of tribute? The 4 police officers involved have been fired & arrested. Just about every Law Enforcement Agency in the country has pledged to retrain their officers. When can we get back to avoiding covid-19 & getting Americans back to work?Mea culpa! Neal

That doesn't win the elections in November, and they want to keep the focus of the attack On Trump. Not the police but can use any white on black misdeeds to solidify Their cause of a welfare minority socialist state for their voters. Plain and simple to see. it's Another Great society giveaway.

Nobody has more disgust for the racist BLM movement than I do. That sated, the fact remains that we need standardized arrest procedures just for starters as I see it, especially when the police union protects their criminal procedures and perps. That is if our law enforcement community is going to be viewed in a better light than it has been in the past generation or so. Unfortunately, I do not see that happening, just like I do not see government at any level reigning in the criminals that infest or fund the the BLM and ANTIFA terrorist activities. NO, these kind of individuals would have you believe that the KKK is behind this nation's burning, looting and continued killing of law officers year in and year out ad Infinitum, instead of the obvious terrorists and their supporters that are in the news 24/7. How stupid is that?!!!! It is no wonder this world has spawned dictators that slaughter their opposition. There is no way to reason with their kind...and they always get a pass. 0 -
talk about pandering to the "special" ...a texas college is giving floyd's 6 yr old kid a FREE ride thru college when old enuff.......when is enuff media bleating enuff ???? any college doing that for a dead LEO's kids ????? 0 -
If a private institution, who cares? If a public institution and the good people of Texas support it, more power to them.spasmcreeksrun said:talk about pandering to the "special" ...a texas college is giving floyd's 6 yr old kid a FREE ride thru college when old enuff.......when is enuff media bleating enuff ???? any college doing that for a dead LEO's kids ?????
I do not know how much child support George Floyd was sending from Minneapolis down to his daughter, but if she can benefit is some manner for the unjustifiable killing of her father, I do not have a problem with it.
No doubt the citizens of Minneapolis will be paying a lot of money to Floyd's family. They did lose a brother, a father, a cousin, a second cousin, a person who's name they heard at one point who may have been related, etc.
By all appearances, Chauvin should have been washed out long ago. Of course this could just be what passes for correct thinking today, but his record seems to have problems. If, as has been proposed, it was the local police union that kept him in his position, that union should pony up some of the redress monies.0 -
Like them, their hypocrisy is a joke.
