Is it #8 front and back or #6 in front only. Also can you install tritium sites yourself or leave it to professionals?

  I believe #6 in front & #8 in rear is standard for .40.  Your sight picture might dictate a different height.  Check this out:

  The current sights should be marked, but no telling what the LE armorer did to make the customer happy.

  Unless you have a SIG sight tool, or the gun has been used as a hockey puck, it's best to leave sight replacement to the professional.
