    Well armed governments officials are not concerned with peaceful protest.   They will smile and tell you what a good citizen you are for getting involved.   Peaceful assembly and organized addresses do work fairly well if the group is asking for more intrusion of individual liberty, like raising the smoking age to 21, or restricting private ownership of firearms.   But increases in individual liberty usually take violent means to bring about, our founders fought a revolution over it.

    I don't know if it's something I read in a history book, or saw in a movie, but I distinctly remember someone in authority declaring, "rioters will be shot on sight".  Is that my imagination, or was this ever the policy of the military or LE in this country?

    In 1968 Chicago riots mayor Daley said stop or we will shoot you if you keep looting and burning businesses.  It didn't take all that many being shot for the riots to stop.  They seemed to understand after a few were shot.  Far as I am concerned shot them stack them and haul them off in a garbage truck, after all they are trash!

    These riots and looting have NOTHING to do with the murder of Floyd.  This is just an excuse to go ape.
