Sound of Freedom from the past
Just viewed a Memorial Day flyby by 2 P-51 Mustangs and a P-63C Aircobra.
Local aviator John Bagley does this every Memorial Day.
They time where the Honor Guards will be conducting rites at certain cemeteries, we are lucky to get to see them buzz two near us.
The only one missing this year was F4U Corsair that usually accompanies the flight.
I usually catch them coming from the North, but they evidently reversed their circuit this year and came from the NW and started their circuit from the SSE
Got to see and hear them make some tight turns and rolling in on the two cemeteries and then all three pulled up and climbed out hard flaring in separate directions, then circled back to join back up in formation and head North.
Those P-51's in even a shallow dive put a chill through through.
Can only imagine the joy the the troops on the ground felt when they heard it.
