    Agree
Apparently to some politicians, they want the cure to be worse than the virus. Some of the behavior from the governors, particularly in Michigan and Virginia are a tad short of tyrannical. Elections have consequences.

One last note, IMHO, the media is a DEMOCRAT PAC. The "nanny state" is merely DEMOCRAT ideology in practice. The media defends it and the media and their DEMOCRAT sponsors are a far greater threat to freedom loving American people than any virus.

Lockdowns unfortunately were not put in place to stop the spread if you recall initially, it was to "flatten the curve" so as not to overwhelm hospitals.   Not so much to decrease the numbers, but to have a slower attrition.  Anticipation was that there would be 100's of thousands of hospitalizations that would result in not enough bed space to care for the sick and dying.  So, in that sense the social distancing, masking, lockdowns, etc. worked.  Only thing is that instead of using a bit of common sense and applying these measures according to population density and generational parameters it came at us as a blanket.  It smothered businesses that may never recover and has probably done untold damage to the mental health of thousands if not 100's of thousands.

The liberals never pass an opportunity to make the people more dependent on the government and this became their tool of choice this year.  Major corporations are going out of business.  Mom and pop places went under.  Some states never went into full lockdown and may see their smaller businesses rebound.  It became personal in my immediate family, but that is a tale for another thread.

This may be a good wake up call to those who were fence sitters.  We can only hope.

It's becoming increasingly clear that the lockdowns had nothing to do with controlling the virus. The virus was just the excuse. It is an election year, and there is no way that the media and the democrats wanted to go into November with the strong economy supporting Trump.

With biden being the only runner the dems had they needed all manner of distraction.

Also it was a good way to get the low wage workers to get on the government teat. Look stay home and we'll pay you $600 extra on top of unemployment. Those college grads with philosophy and art history degrees who was a "sandwich artists" ain't gonna come out of the basement as long as the checks keep coming in. How much pot can you buy with $600?

Without the "free range" control groups we'll never know. But they do love yapping about how close to 100K dead people. Those vultures wetting themselves running the numbers like Power Ball getting close to billion dollars. Will it happen today or tomorrow? Scum bags. It'll be like new where were you when JFK caught the "bullets".

See the confession by the the head rat in New York city, we have been wrong about the number predictions and the CDC's confession about how they were wrongly counting the numbers for positive Covid -19.
I know many have lost loved ones but I said from the start were being played like a fine fiddle and still are.

Washington State last week confirmed that at least 5 of the 1,000-odd deaths counted as Covid-19 deaths were actually gunshot deaths that were counted because the person had tested positive at some point.
When we start adding in automobile accidents, drownings, other accidents and any number of non-related or partially related health issues, it is very possible the death count is horribly exaggerated.  Some probably have been missed as well, but it is becoming likely that we have a significant over-count going on.

    Hoping for a cure.
There has been a cure all along, it had been tested and proven 100% success in February.

There is also this thing called eating healthy, getting your sleep, washing your hands and keeping a positive healthy attitude towards life.

The panic porn is an easy sell to stupid lazy people who want cradle to grave protection.

Yes, Epstein had the "Clinton" variant of covid.

Also I see these fools with masks in their cars and just think how much more stupid they will be starving their brain of 20% oxygen. :(

I assume the intent of the lock down was to try to get a handle on the severity, contagious nature Etc.  of the virus. In that regard perhaps a necessity. Time will tell, hind sight is indeed 20/20.
Clearly we can't stay locked down forever so eventually we would have to be released, then the spread continues without a vaccine or curative treatment, obviously we will now see how that works out.
Oddly this disease seems to attack some much more severely than others, anyone who has died, lost limbs or been in  a coma with organs shutting down would not argue the serious nature of the virus OR at least its impact on some. So I guess we just roll with it and those who survive good on ya!

Your comment is complete and utter BS and frankly quite insulting. Tell that to the thousands of otherwise healthy people... including children that died from contracting this disease.

    Nothing is 100%, Mr. Magoo.

With approximately 42% of the deaths (stats vary) are from people living in nursing homes/assisted living facilities, it is very safe to say that Covid-19 attacks those with compromised health to a far greater degree than the vast majority of the population, there are those that have succumbed who had no previous diagnosis.  From what I can see, between 2.3 and 2.5 million Americans live in these facilities.  With .75% of the population accounting for 42% of the deaths, we see that at a minimum the risk is 50 times greater for these folks, and this does not include those who are being cared for at home, which could easily double or even triple this figure.   Add to this the number of deaths that are attributed to Covid that are actually from other causes, the statement that leading a healthy lifestyle is a huge factor is correct, even as the 100% in February, if true, does not hold true as the numbers of cases has expanded.
The sad fact is that we will not get back to normal until a vaccine or dramatically successful cure exists.  Neither have to be 100% or even close to 100%, but they have to be effective enough to reduce the level of fear in people and reduce the level of politicization by our extremely agenda driven media and politicians.

Those who fail to take "social distancing" seriously do so at their own risk.
The CDC Morbidity & Mortality Weekly Reports are not easy reading, but the folks at CDC do a great job of tracking the spread of covid-19's largest outbreaks.  Especially scary is the fact that a single infected person spread the disease to 83 others in just a 2 hour chorus practice session.  If you think that now is a good time for a pool party, you may want to think twice.

Yes, the infection rate of those in nursing homes appears high, but more people in the 20-60 age groups are infected, & do a far better job of spreading the virus.  And, our only hope is development of 1) a cure, & 2) a vaccine, & 3) an accurate test.  Most of the tests are woefully inaccurate; all have been "authorized" by CDC, but none have been "approved" by CDC.  A skeptic would think that this information is still secret because there are several hundred million dollars worth of bad tests out there, & many of the manufacturers have not yet been paid.
