I joined, "Together We Served" in hopes of finding old friends

That was about a year ago.  It never help find anyone.  But I was searching the internet and I found my Name, Rank, USMC, and my serial number.  I was not looking for military but was surprised to find this.  TWS is the only time I gave out my serial number and rank.  I guess they sell the info.  I do family trees and you would be surprised at what you can find.

    I found two of my closest service buddies just doing online searches.  Both had died.  :'(

    I've found my  Complete Squad from my last unit (all still kicking), thru Facebook.  Facebook has many pages  dedicated to   Military units.
    Found many  folks thru 3rd ID,  4th ID,  and 502 InF  pages

    I am sure that like my Dad , most of his WW2 buddies have passed on . Would be nice to find some of them if I could . May dig out his old service info and look around .

    More then 30 years ago before my dad passed, I tried to locate a WWII buddy of his from the metro Detroit area.  We all lived 250 miles north of there and before internet and the hot info speed of light the only things to work with were very thick phone books and land line calls to nowhere!  

    Never did find his friend who had an easy name that would have lit up a computer screen now days. 
    Kelly Powderskivich :o   and dad were together fighting in the South Pacific and became close friends. 

    Sad not finding him but I know today that they had their reunion in the vastness of the afterlife.
