Sadly there are fewer every day . My neighbor , Mr. Ted passed on a few years ago . Retired senior master gunnery sergeant in the marines . Went thru the bloodiest of the South Pacific fighting and Korea . I was privileged to receive his kbar he carried thru his career . Sadly my younger brothers lost it hunting one day . A true American hero . 🇺🇸

my dad was a Major in the Signal Corp and was stationed in San Diego where i was born....he got orders his company was to ship out to the Pacific somewhere and the company all lined up for their shots... they had BAD yellow fever vaccine and  all of them died except him and one other..he was shipped back east somewhere to recover and then discharged...only spoke of this once and hated doctors and in the late 1980's took 5 years to die from cancer....few  WW2 vets left here....i believe i grew up in a better time in AMERICA  than now thanks to vets like him....
