My Father has moved in with my daughter and her family.....so sweet. UPDATE
We have all been struggling to figure out what would be the best option for my father because he is no longer able to stay by himself. He insisted on being left alone, but we gathered some people together to go clean his house and do some grocery shopping for him last week and it was obvious that he really didn't need to be on his own all of the time any longer. So, we were weighing our options and trying to see if we could get him to agree to something, but he said no to everything we tried......until my daughter showed up. She just went down there the day after we were all there and got him. He went willingly and they've been happy as can be for the past few days. He has his own bedroom and bathroom at her house. I spoke with my daughter's husband to make sure he was ok with everything and he said things were great. I found out yesterday that Perry even shaved my dad's face when he was having trouble. I just couldn't be more proud of these two for jumping into action and taking him into their home. I was ready for a long struggle. She sent me a video yesterday of him sitting on the couch watching the Disney movie, Frozen, with my grandson. TOO SWEET!!!

I just about cried when she sent me the video of him hanging out with the grandbaby.....its like night and day from the fussy old man that was insistent that we all leave him alone. My oldest was always his favorite and he's always done more for her than all the other grandkids he had. My other kids didn't really mind because they had other grandparents that did the same with them. Larry's mother took up with my other daughter and my son was always big buddies with Larry's dad.
I'm in shock at how on top of things my daughter is. I figured I'd still be figuring out things, but she's handled everything. She's got doctor's appointments lined up, his ID renewed on line and printed out so they can go to the Social Security office and change his address. She's going to see if she can't get him one of those mechanical beds so he can sit up in bed......thats on the long list of needs she has decided he needs.
He's in a good bit of pain because of arthritis and he's had heartburn today because he's been eating everything she's cooked for him and he hasn't been accustomed to big meals since being on his own. She said John, the 2 year old, keep hugging him. He'll just have to put up with that.0 -
Nothing better than family. I would be lost if we were not close with our kids and being a grandpa is really AWESOME.

It appears he has a parking ticket he hasn't taken care of. She's going to make some calls Tuesday and see what she can sort out. Hopefully its not going to be a problem. 0
