Just got some news I've been dreading. UPDATE
My wife had a mammogram last Monday, then a follow up MG last week along with an Ultrasound. Today she went to a surgeon for a consultaion and found out that she does have breast cancer that may also involve 2 lymph nodes.
Last summer she fell and was laid up all summer into the fall. Now she stands the possibility of losing her breast and being laid up this summer too. Poor girl just can't get a break.
We've been together since 1967 and married in 1970. This has pretty much taken the wind out of our sails.
My brothers first wife died from breast cancer in her 30's. This is bringing back all those memories.

Prayers for both of you. My mother recovered from a radical mastectomy in her late 60s and lived another 25 years. Medicine has learned a lot since then so I hope your wife makes a full recovery. Getting old can sure be a chore but we have to do the best we can with the hand we are dealt. After her surgery it will give you a chance to spoil the heck out of her.😊 Bob 0 -
Prayers from here, Godspeed on a fast full recovery. 0 -

Prayers from my family for both of you. Just like Bobs experience my MIL had a radical mastectomy for breast cancer in the 70's and lived for another 20 years with no reoccurance. My wife has been plagued with it for 20 years. They do so much more these days with less than a total mastectomy as my wife has had several lumpectomies. She has been stable for several years now but does have to have mamograms more often then other women. 0 -
We have been where you are, you are not alone. Mrsdeere had breast cancer in 2006. The treatments were rough, I’m not gonna lie. They have come a long way with treatments since then. Hang tough! Y’all will get through this. 0 -
Prayers offered. No one can walk in the shoes you are about to put on. Each pair is different. I walked the path of caregiver. So I have walked the same path. 0 -

Thank you very much everyone, I really appreciate it. I was her caregiver last year after she fell, and in the beginning I did all the housework, gave her showers, cooked the meals, and did whatever else needed doing, so I won't have any issues doing it again this summer. Last summer brought us even closer together as she went through all her trevails. I expect this year will be similar. Our 50th wedding anniversary is Sept. 4th. Was really looking forward to that, but this has taken some of the luster off that celebration. But we'll get through it just like we've done all the other times we've had unpleasant things to deal with. Thanks again,Joe

My prayers are with you. I went through the cancer ordeal with my wife. It took over a year for her to win but the cost was a lot to her overall health. She is disabled now and has health problems but at least she is still with me. Don 0 -

My Mother had one breast removed 9 years ago. She had 2 lymph nodes removed and didn't have to have chemo or radiations. Good reports since. 0 -

Prayers for your wife & you. My wife had 2 lumps & lymph nodes removed. Surgeon said he got it all but others talked her into Chemo. It was some really harsh stuff called Taxotere. She's now part of a lawsuit for bad side affects that the manufacturer knew about. So please be careful. 0 -
My prayers go out for you both. 0
