What is this antique, octagon barrel, .22 rifle?
This rifle has no markings that I can make out, barrel is rusted, you can see the rough condition in the pictures. I am assuming it is some sort of .22, not sure if it is .22 long, short. Anything you can tell me about it would be helpful, make, value, etc.

Flobert "parlor rifle", made in .22 or .32 Flobert rimfire cartridges for indoor shooting. Made in the late 1800's into the early 1900's. Instead of throwing darts in your local northern Europe bar, you shot targets on the other side of the bar room. Maybe where the phrase, "Hold my beer and watch this" came from. 3 -

That is a Warnant Flobert rifle. As Trap said, they were basically a BB gun on steroids, made to fire the BB cap cartridge. The action is NOT strong enough for real .22 ammo, and will disassemble itself for you if you try those.0 -
Paid $150 for mine a few years ago. Though I probably overpaid. 0 -
Old Sears catalog said, "We do not recommend or guarantee Flobert rifles. Buy a good rifle, it will pay in the end."
But they would cheerfully sell you a Flobert, $1.60-$2.80 while a Stevens Crack Shot was $2.95 and Favorite or Remington No 4 was a whopping $5.00.0
