Does your town have one of these?
Had to drop off paperwork at the courthouse after a meeting tonight. Thought I would do a cruise around my little sleepy village. Took a pic of one of the side streets to share it here. Yes, that is a 2 way street with a tree growing in the center.

you know its a small town when you see that .
the town I grew up in does still have a few side streets split with trees and a few with the original bricks from many years ago but they have dwindled down to just a few sections last time I paid any attention sad but easier to just black top over them .
the town just east of me ( Bellefontaine Oh) has the first concrete street in the USA per there signs its now blocked off with just walking allowed0 -

Nope, have some boulevards in the town where I grew up with the grass down the center and a few small trees but no big ones like that. Last I knew Flint Michigan ( used to be Buick City ) still has the brick paving the length of downtown. Always looked cool when I was growing up but it was the slickest pavement when it rained or snowed of anything I ever drove on. Some of the bricks probably have close to a hundred years of oil soaked into them. A little rain and suddenly you are driving on a film of oil. They must still be there because they have a back to the bricks car show and cruise there every year. Considering what Flint has become that is probably the only safe time to go there because of the police presence but I still pass. Cities change and usually not for the better. Bob 0 -
About 5 years a go they done that here on some residential streets to slow traffic down. They also added a bunch of round the rounds with trees planted in the center.

The last hurricane that came thru those trees shut down alot of streets

live oaks are fairly revered here on the Ms coast and there are many roads and streets that detour around them. 0
