Out and about this morning

Drove to pick my son up this morning.  In the way home we stopped at the dollar store for a few things.   Toliet paper is back.  Some things are still short, canned goods weren't fully stocked, no baking powder.   I looked for baking powder because the grocery didn't have any the other day either.   I have some but I think it's getting old.   Anyway somehow I spent 105 dollars at the dollar store, who does that?  But I did buy some vienna sausages, potted meat, and canned soups, a rug for the dog's kennel,  paper plates.............

I noticed the barber shop on the square was open.   They had some signs posted but I didn't read what they said.   I recently cut my hair and my son's hair so we didn't need to stop.  I wanted to, my cousin's DIL works there and I'm sure she could use the business after being off for these past weeks.

Stopped at the post office, still signs up and markers on the floor for proper social distancing.  I checked my P.O. box, dang it, now I have to mail out checks for bills.

    The postal service here has been kind of backed up because the major sorting center near Detroit had a lot of Covid cases. Somehow all the bills are getting here on time but everything else I have to wait on. How do they do that? >:) Bob

    The ad flyers were in the P.O. box and the home mail box, they didn't hold those up.

    Our Post Office here has done a stellar job of keeping the lines short and still being polite and having a sense of humor. All good people!
    My barbershop was closed these many weeks just like everywhere else. But it had an OPEN sign out yesterday and a sign stating NEW OWNERSHIP right under that. Evidently the new owners are catering to the young Mexican population and their hairstyles in such high demand. The rest of us are looking for new barbers... :s

    Actually our post office has been great too.  Someone using their head  used shower curtains as barriers.   They hung them with cut rectangles at the  counter level and outlined the openings with that red and white striped packing tape they use on some things.   Real neat job and effective.
