Yeah as far as I'm concerned, they could have spent the money elsewhere.  Having said that, I love my single stack P-11 that I bought 10+ years ago.  Never been fired (in anger).

I have a P-11 9mm.  I also have a .40 S&W slide, barrel and magazine for it.  It is a good, reliable pistol.

They quit making the P-40 long ago due to the girly boys that couldn't handle the recoil of the .40 Cal. They keep sending perfectly good guns back to the factory to be fixed when there was nothing wrong with them so Kel-Tec said the hell with them they're cost us money.

My Kel-Tec P-40 has never had a hiccup of any kind.

Bought mine in 1996. It's one of the earliest stainless slide ones, that the factory recalled. Never sent mine back though. It was my EDC for years, until I started carrying my G 27. Well over 1000 rounds through it. Lot being hot hand loads.

Only crapped out twice. Hammer axis pin, and slide stop. KelTic replaced bought gratis. And I installed both myself. It's quite snappy with hot loads. Can't even imagine, what one in 40 S & W would be like. Shooting  180 grainers. Would be way to much, for me. Hard time even holding onto the pistol, in rapid fire. With hot 9 mm's.

Kel Tec is known to have one of the best Customer service departments out there. I know the couple times I have contacted them to order specialty parts, they bent over backwards to help me and be of assistance.

    I have 3 Kel Tec's (P-11, PLR-16 [5.56] & a .40 cal. Sub2K.) No problems with any of them.

Very innovative Co. (KSG etc.) Buddy has one.
