I am learning Border Collie thinking. Go potty means run around the yard very fast. Come means
Go potty. When I let my dogs out, they hit the porch sprinting, each trying to outsprint the other. I will yell "Go potty!!" The sprints do not slow up in any way. When I yell "Come!!" They get nasty looks on their faces, stop sprinting and start sniffing for the best possible place to pee/poop. When they get their business done, than they come in. 100% they think "Come!" means "Go potty!"
They actually know their commands but they are very good actors. They also know how to pretend they are so distracted they didn't hear you. In the dog world Border Collies are the lawyers!!

My first B.C. wasn't supposed to be on the furniture. She had one rocking chair with a pad she loved to sleep in. I would come home and hear her jump off the chair. By the time I got into the living room she would be curled up on the floor pretending she was asleep. She would fake waking up, complete with a yawn and a stretch. Then trot to me to say high.
The pad on the rocker would be very warm. It takes a smart dog to pitch that much BS!!

They are great dogs. Fun to work with. Very intelligent. 0 -
I have enough trouble with dogs as it is, I certainly don't want one that is smarter than I am. 6
