Wow...Nice...I don't think that is a run of the mill everyday, grade 1 marlin.

I don't think it is restored, but I don't know the history on the gun.  It looks unfired.  There is a little surface rust on top by the hinge release and just northeast of the rabbit on the receiver.  The stock only has a couple of very minor dinges.

I have a single-trigger model 90 12ga Marlin, and it looks NOTHING like that!
I believe mine to be the entry level offering.
I would guess yours to be a Deluxe model at very least.
    Nice find. Have fun.

Had a few 90's and they were utility guns. That one intrigues me. Wonder if the  "D" prefix indicates deluxe ? And with a low serial number. It is a beauty for sure redone or not.

    Found a discussion elsewhere:  https://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=201413
    Also this:

If you have Brophy's book, Marlin Firearms, A History of the Guns and the Company That made Them, published by Stackpole books in 1989, there are 8 pages about the Model 90 (p. 412-419). A list of letter prefixes is on page 629.
