I would've thought the smell off the fur would keep the birds away.  If they build nest with it, well that's just cool.
And that is a lot of fur.  How big is the cat?  Picture?

That is a lot of fur. Looks like you could build a second cat with that!

never thought of it . but neat way for the birds to get material for there nest .    I can see it now your birds showing off there fur lined nest to the neighbors

we have  about a dozen or + cats  and four  dogs but the husky sheds enough to fur too  line a eagles nest , seems like every couple days LOL  and she is small for a husky

When we brush our dogs outside, it looks like someone sheared a sheep. After a day or two most of the hair disappears.

Just an average chubby house cat.  That is several day's fur.

We will add some to the fur.
I save dryer lint in a small plastic bottle to carry when I'm hunting - great fire starter!

Granddad had a huge shaggy dog.  They sheared him every summer.
One summer the grandsons got the idea to leave a huge mane and a ball of fur at the tip of his tail....several reports were made to the newspaper about a lion being spotted in the vicinity of the family farm.
