A news story was widely circulated on social media saying that a home, along with a family of four, was carried more than 100 miles by a tornado.The story also claimed the home was owned by a woman named Dorothy.A county official now says the report is false and the incident "did not happen."A Kansas official is putting an end to a widely-circulated rumour that a mobile home owned by a Tulsa, Oklahoma, woman named Dorothy was carried off by a tornado and deposited 130 miles away near Wichita, with her and her family inside.Sedgwick County spokeswoman Kate Flavin told the Associated Press on Tuesday that the story is a complete fabrication.(MORE: Tornado Central)The story was published in 2015 by the World News Daily Report and recently circulated again on Facebook. April 3rd 1974: My cousin after working third shift drank several beers and went to sleep in his house trailer, his wife was at work. After sleeping for some hours he woke in an un-leveled bed wondering what had happened. He got up and noticed the trailer wasn't level, went to the door pried it open and looked out at the neighbor's back yard rather than his own front yard. The tornado had pushed his trailer about 100 feet and his drunk ass had slept through it. 0 -

when I was young fellow maybe ten or twelve my grandmother would buy the news papers? national enquirer ? , star ? I really do not remember there names but seemed thee was more than a few being published full of such wild articles as a kid I had not idea but i remember grandma telling me there not allowed by law to print it if its not true ..

friend of mine had a mobile home about 2 miles from my east irrigation system...tornado totaled it at about 3pm in the afternoon and then went on NE to his place .. saw him a couple days later and he said he had been working long hours and went in to take a nap...shaking woke him up as he watched the tv slowly come across the room in mid air and he caught it ..trailer went over two times and was totaled without hurting him......got a new trailer and about few years later it was ruined by a storm..now there was an OLD small frame house there close to the trailers that was never damaged any more than it was wore out so he just fixed it up and has lived in it since 0 -
Those things just explode into flying stick and tin shrapnel when a twister hits them...it's a rarity that people survive when one takes a direct hit.

south of me about 20 mile and about a mile in the country were several home by a small lake...right on the section corner was a frame home on a full square basement...tornado came thru and wiped out the county fairgrounds and took all of this house from the flooring up...nothing left above the flooring, and the couple rode it out in the corner of the basement OK 0
