If anyone wants a super accurate 22 pistol
I tested a lot of guns a few years back and the two best were both High Standards, one being my hand built 10x and this old "Space Gun. It will shoot x rings all day long if you do your part.

I have put a lot of rounds thru a Supermatic Citation Military. I am an O.K. shot but have never been able to shoot as good as it was capable of. Phenomenally accurate and in my opinion will even beat my S&W 41 90% of the time. Not sure how they did it but the original High Standards were the most competitive American made 22 pistols ever made. I've owned or still own Smiths, Brownings, Rugers, Colts and shot them a lot. When I'm serious the High Standards come out to play. This should do well and someone will get a heck of a good gun. Bob 0 -

Unless you were a Bullseye shooter, who had muscles like Arnold, the govenator in his prime. Trying to shoot that thing off hand, is a joke. The weight of the PIC rail and red dot. Makes it just that much more impractical, for the average shooter.
Been there, done that. Long barreled target pistols, with brakes, rails, red dots. Might look impressive, on the wall of the man cave. But unless your a BE shooter, with thousands of rounds a month downrange. Your just kidding yourself, with a very expensive, impractical conversation piece.6 -
Why don't you buy this one so you can compare them and get back to us about which one is best. Iron sights are nice when you are 30. Not so much when 50 or 60. I did not even need cheaters until age 56. Now, a red dot is important, and the Ruger used with Volquartsen trigger will keep pace with the High Standards I shot in competition. The High Standard is a beautiful well built well crafted gun, no doubt about it. I will stick to the Ruger now, blowing the center out of the X-ring using a red dot. 0 -

I can see where if you have arms like Popeye's girlfriend, Olive Oil, then holding and firing a target pistol might be impractical but that has never been a problem for me. When I owned this pistol it did not have the optics rail, I shot it with iron sights and without the comp and it shot very well for me. 3 -
