Stimulus Money Help
Was hoping this might help some here on the Forum that did not get their Stimulus Money yet.
I tried for weeks to go thru Get My Payment at IRS and no luck. Kept telling me their data did not agree with my data but would not tell me which data was in error. Come on IRS, a simple programming prompt! After three tries it locks you out for 24 hours. I finally gave up and figured I would get the direct deposit eventually since my SS is set up that way and there were people in greater need than me.
I read I think here on the Forum that some were having success by entering address all in caps. I tried this and still no luck. By now I am getting really pissed. Then I remembered my street years ago had two E's instead of one. At that time years ago I went to Mayor and complained about spelling on street sign. Went all way back to 1915 history and village fathers agreed with me and Mayor went to County Seat and did a Official name change with just one E. So now I enter incorrect spelling on street address and the IRS loves me.
OK, so now they want my info from 2018 and 2019 return and bank routing/acct number. Still no luck and I am really getting pissed now, so I wait another week. Today I though maybe just maybe they are so far behind that they did not process my 2019 return that I sent in early February, paper return. I know they got it because they cashed the check for money owed. So now I delete all my 2019 return data and enter my 2018 data.
Bingo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! " You have successfully submitted your bank account info. Your payment will be direct deposited into your bank acct using the info you provided" I will believe it when I see it. LOL folks.

I would hope the everyone who can afford to do so puts this 'free' money in an account for their children and grandchildren, as it is they who will be paying it back. 6 -
Don, you got that right. I won't live long enough to get it paid back. Sad, they finally found a way to rape the US Treasury.Don McManus said:I would hope the everyone who can afford to do so puts this 'free' money in an account for their children and grandchildren, as it is they who will be paying it back.

And to think some people still think Obummer Care was a great idea...Just imagine if the IRS had to deal with 330,000,000 American Health records and care. 0 -
I'll eventually get a check in the mail or I won't. 0 -
That is the posture I've adopted. Nothing I've tried on the IRS website can break the electronic block. A paper check is supposed to be coming, but there seems to be no rush to get it in the mail. Of course If I don't have my check for last year's taxes in the mail before 15 July I'll hear about it from the IRS!SCOUT5 said:I'll eventually get a check in the mail or I won't.
To give an idea how fast this works when sending money, I mailed a $500 check for next year's Spacial Occupational Tax for my Class 3 FFL on 23 April and the check was cashed on 30 April. It seems that that various alphabet agencies can't get their hands on my money fast enough. Even my insurance company doesn't cash payment checks that fast.0 -
The IRS website is so messed up. The link they provide works intertermently. We went through the same thing, took us maybe two dozen times to finally get to the enter your bank account info screen. Once you have entered the bank info it does work, we entered our info about two weeks ago and just got our direct deposit yesterday. 0 -
You got to show your AGI from 2018 return to get anything done on your 2019 return if there are any issues. 0 -
I ain't getting one but she did. We don't need new curtains, but I think she needs a new pistol

Got my paper government check today. Trying to remember when I filed? Early part of March (or was that when I got the checks?)? I don't wanna dig out the paperwork. I suppose I can finish my MATEN build with government financing (pelosi and newsom ain't gonna like that). I should sit on the cash so I can be ready to pounce and hoard magazines when the judge Benitez reverse the California silliness. 0 -
Well you got to admit that no matter how screwed up this stimulus thing is the government has never acted this fast on anything else. Would have been even faster if the wicked witch of the west hadn't held it up for 7 days. 0 -
They might be in better shape to pay it back if you spend it now like you're supposed to. Debt is much less of a big deal to nations than to individuals. If the economy goes into a long recession you might wind up not having grandkids or finding them menially employed or unemployed several years from now. They may have been building the office or factory your grandkids would have worked in when this thing hit.Don McManus said:I would hope the everyone who can afford to do so puts this 'free' money in an account for their children and grandchildren, as it is they who will be paying it back.

Couple items...
I’m named after my father and grandfather. So I’m the third. I’m always having trouble filling out official online forms. Some need the III, some need 3rd, some need _III and others need 111... hell, some don’t even have that. Always a challenge to fill most the verification forms. Hell, even on the 3 different credit agencies they’re all screwed up. So you may want to throw in the different numbers.
We live on Morgantown Road. It used to be Morgantown-West (vs Morgantown-East). And up until a couple of years ago, before they standardized on 911 addresses here, we had a completely different house number. So - this may also cause you an issue with logging in.
My 2019 taxes were submitted electronically last week. This is the first year I’ve received a refund - hopefully they’ll send the stimulus!0 -
Just read where somewhere mid may is deadline for bank info to them to get the check. However if you do not get a tax refund forget about it ... going to direct deposit. Mail will see them late May into June. 0 -
I got my direct deposit, and I'm using it to buy baby hens.
Always wanted money for nothing, and my chicks for free...……..6 -
Ms. WT received hers a while back. She bought some things for our RV. Not sure what I’ll spend mine on - if and when I receive one. 0 -
Our income hasn't been affected by this horrendous goobmint overreach. So, we could afford to just wait it out.
Funds were direct deposited about a week ago. Feel sorry for those in dire need and having to deal with a screwed up bureaucracy while trying to make ends meet.

We get 0 We do not need it even with the wifes $40k pay cut.
BUT 43,000 millionaires did.
I need a better accountant - or a crooked done.0 -
mjrfd999 - a crooked accountant can get you in a lot more trouble than $2,400. 0 -
I heard on the news yesterday that they have doled money out to about 100.5M people. They still have a long way to go to get to the rest of us. 0 -
Ah, now they've reached the point where the systems analysts have to do heavy lifting. They have to figure out where to get the information that they need from other files, then match it against IRS records. With overtime, they should be finished in only 3-4 months. Otherwise, Thanksgiving.Neal

Being a millionaire doesn't mean as much as it used to. 20 years ago you could retire with a million in the bank and have 40 thousand or so interest every year to add to your SS or pension. Now you would have to spend the principal to use that much every year. That doesn't take into consideration the effects of inflation either. 😟 Bobselect-fire said:0 -
No clue what lifestyle you lead however 1000000 in the bank does 50k yr plus interest plus SS Plus pension plus the other halfs retirement. assuming retirement is over in 20yr 0 -
Not that extravagant by any means. Just don't want to blow my capital and then have a catastrophic event like a medical problem requiring long term care and not having the resources to manage it. Relying on just Medicare quite often dooms one to bare bones second class facilities. If that were to happen to me I wouldn't want Judy to do without trying to provide for my care. We have no problems living within our means and don't do without anything but I would still like to get a little more interest on our money.
