Well it's got a little horsey on the side and the horrible colt stack double action. Seriously I believe the 3" guns are rare.

I almost get scared when I go to a listing like that.  I can just see my computer having a glitch at the wrong moment and my computer hit "Buy it now!!    >:)

Thanks for the info. Like i said I know nothing of colt handguns (except every time they go out of business, the prices skyrocket). I went on the search in the first place to see what the "new" pythons were going for and saw that older one and about crapped my pants.

Well, it's been listed several times, so maybe the starting price is a little above what folks are willing to pay.

You really need to know what you are looking at with Pythons that have a rare barrel length.  When Colt disposed of their old parts inventory about 40 years ago, many ended up getting sold to Gunpartscorp.  That lot included hundreds of Python barrels of various lengths; they were catalogued by GPC for at least 10 years.

I agree that since it has been listed multiple times, it is either to high for the current market, or there is something about it that makes some people nervous. Neal also makes a great point about the old parts being re configured to make a highly sought after gun. Another point to mention is that there is a pretty good little racket going on about selling hard to find guns with the original boxes. I can't remember his forum user name, but IIRC,  a great tile guy by the name of Saul, who lived in Texas, saved my butt on a Colt with a fake box. IN NO WAY AM I SAYING THAT THE BOX IS A FAKE.. Just adding to Neal's point, that for the price, you darn well better know what you're looking at....

I may have to recalculate the value of my unfired 4” nickel Python.

She told you size doesn't matter too, didn't she?   She lied.
