Is it possible to email a member if you did not have a transaction with them?

    If you click on their name you can select message.  People have the option to not be contacted, so I guess the answer is maybe.

    You have to use the forum PM system to contact members. Direct email thorough the forum is not possible. As Charlie said, members can "opt out" of the PM system and remain out of bounds.

    Hi,
    I don't know what the PM system is or where to look for it. I clicked on members name but no message icon popped up.

    Maybe they don't want to be contacted. You can send me a message if you want to try it out....

    click on the member's name and you will see :Message" and click on that.

    If you do not see the message sign then the member cannot be contacted:
