I've had to pray a Happy Mothers Day to my mom for 48 years now.  Very sad for me but she gets them in a much better place.

My mom will be 90 in a few months and she's still cantankerous as ever. She still keeps dad's old S&W Model 10 by her easy chair. Dad died 5 years go this past Wednesday and she visits his grave which is only a couple miles from her house every time she goes out anywhere which is quite often.

She still hates those "damn democrats". I hear about that every time I talk to her on the phone which is every other day and if I don't call her every other day I'll hear about that if she has to call me.

Mom and dad eloped to Ringo, GA back in 40s when they were teenagers and her dad and brother hunted for them all night and would have most likely shot my dad if they had found them. Mom's family was well off and dad's people were farmers which didn't go over very well with mom's family. They said the marriage would never last but after 67 years of marriage it appears they were wrong.

Mom moved from a 13 room house to a 3 room mining company house with no indoor plumbing to be with dad where he had gotten a job in the Zinc mines in Mascot, TN after they were married.

Mom and dad in the winter of '48. They had been out riding on dad's 1947 Harley Knucklehead.

Mom and dad's 60th wedding anniversary.

Love birds until the end. Dad died not long after this photo was taken from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). A disease so horrible that no human being on earth deserves to go through it.

I think back of the sacrifices her and dad made for us kids its humbling .
sad we are grown before we realize all they did and tried to do to guide us  in life
