Beretta CX4 or Ruger PC 9

What say you? Going to buy one or the other.. good , bad and ugly on each? I do have a Beretta 92 that mags will fit on the CX4..

    Friend of mine has the beretta and loves it. I want the Ruger. The Ruger at least can take Glock mags if you own one

     I do have a Beretta 92 that mags will fit on the CX4..

    I just got the Ruger  so far have only ran about 75 rounds thru it,  but no problems of any kind ,
    one just like this one
    take down is super easy , trigger is really good right out of the box , so far so good

    I like my Ruger. Gave $480 for it at a local shop.
    I don't care for the PCC Charger it doesn't come with iron sights or a provision for easily mounting them.

    I can't see the point in the PC Charger  with only a 6" barrel , I would think a 10" would be better plus  they cost to much for what they are

    I have had my CX4 for over a decade. Never a jam and always a giggle.

    More research on both ... I like the fact the Ruger comes apart. Ruger trigger is better.  Reckon I will have to find some Glock mags.  Beretta is nice but has a couple of issues I don't like. Trigger pull is 8 # plus. Cost is higher than Ruger. It also has molded plastic parts inside. Going with the PC9 , just haven't figured out which model .

    I have a Colt 9 mm Ar-15 which is a great rifle but it will cost you more than either the Beretta or the Ruger. You might look and see if PSA has any deals on 9 mm AR's.

    I bought a PC9 back in October of last year.  Approximately 600 rounds through it so far without any issues.  I have fired the CX'4 on  a couple of occasions that a buddy owns.  The Ruger's trigger is much better and my experience is the Ruger is also more accurate at longer distances.   I have mounted a light and dot sight on my PC9 and it makes a great night time yard gun with the yotes are running around...

    Here's a fella that modified his M&P mags to work with his Ruger PC 9. I'd bet you can mod a Beretta mag to do the same. I have some 92FS mags around here somewhere, I can see if they fit in the Ruger mag well.

    Only complaint I note with the Ruger is I will occasionally get what feels like a dead trigger. Solution is to fully release the trigger and then repull it. Instead of trying to ride it at the breaking point.
    I note some aftermarket companies are making replacement triggers for the Ruger.

    This company makes a fiber optic front sight for the Ruger. Small issue there is no more protective ears on the front sight.  They also have a trigger:

    I really like the rear peep sight on my Ruger. Very easy to hit with. A fiber optic front sight would be awesome.
    Only change I could see for mine is to add the barrel shroud once it's available from Ruger. I like the look of it:

    Only thing I have read is the buffer system is weak... here is the cure with a stainless lock clip , buffer and spring.. all in a package.

    Just a fun fact ,lol
    I don't know about the new one being able to use Beretta 92 mags yet , but the old PC carbine was able to use them with a mod ,the front of the mag had to be notched like the ruger P series mags .

    Looks like my 92FS mags are buried somewhere. No go on Hi Power mags in the Ruger magazine well module. The ejector sits too far to the side of the feed lips. Where as it sits just over the left feed lip of the included SR mag.

    In regards to Glock mags.
    I find Glock mags are the best mags for Glock firearms followed by PMAGs:

    Years ago I gave up on the whole concept of "Range Mags." I believe it's a stupid idea. I want mags that will work 100% of the time. Junk mags get trashed or buried in a corner somewhere to be forgotten.

    I have found that Magpul PMAGs work though, and carry a 12rd PMAG in my Polymer 80 G26.

    Why not consider a Marlin Camp 9? Love mine. Posted a photo of it not too long back. Blackjack buffer and SS 11lb recoil spring. Bushnell M&P Trophy red/green T-dot sight. Barrel mounted light.

    Will keep going up in value.

    I also like my .40cal Kel Tec Sub 2K. Not harshing on your choices, but there are other options out there.

    Looked at the kel tecs.. they are ok but dislike the charging handle on the bottom. Optics are also a problem mounting if you are going to fold the gun for the main purpose it was built. The Ruger is a take down. Optics on top on the rail.  Wife will also shoot the Ruger. It has an adjustable length of pull like the Steyr I purchased for her to deer hunt. The Marlin does not.

    Yep optics on the Kel Tec are problematic due to the fold up issue. Mine is naked. I see Shilowar has optics on his, maybe he will weigh in. Did not know length of pull was an issue. Yes that eliminates the Camp 9.

    Just throwing some discussion topics out there.
