Part identification help, please?

Long time buyer/seller on Gunbroker.  First time posting on these Forums.
Found these two parts/items at the bottom a of parts box.  The box was marked Ruger pistol parts.

Any help would be appreciated.

  The rod holds the cylinder in place in a revolver.

  The other one may be a base for a rear sight??

  Thanks to Ricci.Wright I was able to identify the base pin as a Belt Mountain Knurled Locking Base Pin for several different Ruger revolver models.
