Natures Place Dog food -
Real Country, Super Premium Food for Dogs.
No grain, no fillers, no animal by product.
This particular one is Lamb, Brown rice and Pea variety. Lots of veggies and fruit, (blueberries, cranberries, sweet potatoes, carrots, etc.) Very high in protein. Mixed in it in with the last of my Premium dog food for Buddy. He seemed to really like it, just now. (1st serving.)
I may scrimp on me, but Buddy gets the best I can find.
I will go hit the Local Farm store here in the next couple days. Diamond Naturals Chicken and Brown rice. 26% protein. 30 lbs. For $33. Very good stuff, if you look at the ingredients. Mix it all in.
Yes, I mix in home cooked chicken, veggies, etc. all the time. He eats good.

My Golden Retriever could live off of potatoes, either raw or cooked. My shepherd, however, is picky and sometimes doesn’t eat all his Beneful. I may need to find something different for him. 0 -
Last bag was Beneful grain free. Chicken #1 ingredient. Also lots of veggies/fruit.
The tighter the turd, the better the food. 😉
Better food is not that much more if you look at price per Lb. I look at that as well as concentrating on ingredients. Corn/grain #1 etc. automatic fail.
Needs to have real meat, veggies, fruit (blueberries, cranberries etc.) as first ingredients, to even be considered.
I like to mix it up with Buddy, for a change of pace. You can tell he appreciates it.

My cats get CAT FOOD and mice. Gonna get a dog when I retire and can spend time training it. What ever canine I get will get top shelf commercial food, deer bones and deer organs mixed with rice and canned. 0 -
My wife makes our dog food and freezes it. She has five or so recipes she alternates.
It's actually cheaper than the better brands. She buys beef or chicken or whatever on sale.
And it's all human food, so (hopefully) no poison from China!
Then I mix in a handful of dry food just for texture, and I don't know why. Habit?
For that I use one of the Acana Regional varieties. It's USA sourced and produced.
