And the miles just keep adding up
My 2000 Dodge Cummins 5.9 just got the oil changed. I have it changed every 10,000-12,000 miles. It has had Rotella T-6 5W-40 now for the past 250,000 miles of its life. There is a FS2500 bypass oil filter system I installed back when the truck was almost new. It filters down to 2 microns keeping harmful contaminates out of the engine.
This beast now had 556,434 miles on it. There is an annoying oil leak from the front timing gear cover that needs replaced but other than a new radiator and normal routine wear parts replacement on the chassis nothing has been done to the beast.
If I retire at 65 driving the miles I do now it will have about 850,000 on it. The goal is to run it past 1,000,000 miles.
Take care of things and they will last a long time!

Take care of it and it will take care of you. To bad more people don't stay on top of the maintenance the way you do. Here in Michigan if I was to put that many miles on it would entail a lot of winter driving and I am afraid the frame and body would be rusted away long before 20 years.

Word of caution, oil leak might not be what you think. I spent several dollars at reputable diesel shops attempting fixing the leak, All fumbled the ball. Turned out to be the gasket around the vacuum pump, two dollars and about 30 minutes time was the fix.1999 year model.

I think I'm the polar opposite. I bought my 2008 Toyota Highlander in 2014 with 63,000 miles on it. It now has 93,000, meaning I drive 5,000 miles a year. 3 -

Yup, I had that exact leak fixed about 2 years ago.0 -
I still change my oil every 3000 miles. The way I drive it equates to twice a year. Something my dad instilled in me and even with all the newer oil technologies, I just can't let dad down! 0 -
remember when Al Bundy rolled up rite at 1,000,000 miles on his old dodge and the company was going to come out and video it clicking over even and give him a new car with lots of advertising...it was sitting in the drive and al went to sleep in it and it rolled forward and clicked off 1/10 th more and when the company man came out they canceled the deal...or when he took it to the car wash and they lost it....poor ol AL with the little red tarantula sucking the life blood out of him.....much fun show 3 -
