I have a Colt Peacekeeper .357 6" barrel .   Man has a Colt AR Sporter lightweight .223 that is preban klinton era unfired wanting to trade even. Fair trade or not?

    From my limited search , money wise they are about even . Question is how bad do you want the rifle versus keeping the peacekeeper?

    If you don't want the Colt Peacekeeper, and you want the .223 AR, I'd say yes. Fair trade.

    Only thing I am thinking about the 1-7 twist in the AR doesn't shoot 55gr as well. Have to go with heavy bullets.

    With all the ARs for sale pretty cheap,its driving prices on most ARs down.Its a lot harder to find a PeaceKeeper than a AR.

    I have a few 1-7 twist tubes and they shoot 55 gr very well.

      maybe just me?  if I were to trade I would just find another upper  for the colt ( not like there scarce for just a plinker set up )  with a barrel twist you like,   keep the original barrel for later on if you sell it it would still be un-fired I doubt you could any  real damage to the lower or major wear just out on occasional use .

    by the way any new / or collector cars on the buy list

    no who cares about a pre klinton AR unless your in a state where that's all you can have  with half way ok ars at 400.00

    Personally I would keep the PeaceKeeper but I have have plenty of AR’s. I see a lot more Colt AR’s for sell than I do PeaceKeepers.

      imo, keep the Peacekeeper. Yes, the pre bans still command a premium as of now, I looked them up but the Peacekeeper imo, will always have a following.

    No clue about current relative value but I'd rather have the Peacemaker. If that "pre-ban" designation became relevant again, of course, the AR would command more money, but I suspect when they come for the guns for real there won't be any grandfathering.
