Powder River Let'r Buck.
We finally got the Governors blessing to hold some high school Rodeos.
Our Seniors will get the chance for their last hoorah.
Going to hold on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and plan for the same next week if this goes well.
There are some protocols that will have to be adhered to.
Downside is there will not be any greasy Rodeo burgers to graze on.

We can only hope.
A Rodeo coach from Sul Ross University in Alpine Texas has been contacting him frequently, along with a couple other somewhat local schools, trying to entice him to join their programs and attend their school.

Wonderful!! Hope your grandson does well! 0 -
Take a deep seat and tighten yer knees!
The higher he bucks, the cooler the breeze!
Glad to hear he's gonna get a chance to get back on 'em!
How's his busted up kidney doing? All better?0 -
Kidney seems to have healed well, this extra month of healing has been to his benefit.NeoBlackdog said:Take a deep seat and tighten yer knees!

He has gotten on a few practice bulls in the last 10 days and had no issues.
He is wound up to get back to competing.

Thursday night, 1st 2020 High School Rodeo.
Grandsons Bull hung a horn in the gate as he was coming out and threw both bull and rider out of whack.
He was out of shape, but stayed with him 6 seconds before bucking off.
Judges told him if he had pulled his wrap and got off before bull recovered, they would have awarded him a reride.
Other kids we follow closely did well, points in Bareback, Saddle bronc and Barrel racing.
But dang it was clear and cool, in the mid high 30's before we finished.
Looks like this evenings show will be warmer.

What event is *? Never heard of that one!
I would have thought with the bull hangin' a horn at the outset they would have given him the re-ride?0 -

I agree, but Because Riley choose to stay with him, if he would have checked out early, they would have awarded the RR.
Little different from bull completely going down or fouling the rider on the gate or chute.

Experiencing difficulties with the videos, but what a opener for High School Rodeo.
As I wrote before, bucked off on Thursday night, but made a dominating comeback on Friday with a 79 point ride for the win, Bull spun both ways and Riley handled him well.
Saturday was nearly as good with a 74 for the win with another nice bull.
He is sitting 21 points ahead of his nearest competition.
The Rodeo was visited by the local health department and they were quite impressed and pleased at how the event was handled, no spectators that were not family of contestants and that people were adhering to the face mask and distancing protocol.
We are hoping to hold next weeks Rodeo in another town, but if they Mayor and county commissioners up there say no, we will Rodeo at this same fair grounds.
Will continue try work with Forgemonkey to figure out to get the videos to post, until then you'll just have to take my word for it.

Update for Rodeo #2
Friday night, he drew pretty good but Bull faded bad around 6 seconds.
They gave him a 60, with option for a reride. There was only one rider left, so he took the score and ended up 2nd for 9 points.
This gives him 49, 19 ahead of his closest competition.
Saturday, I think all the Bullriders played too hard after the Friday show as they all bucked off.
Riley drew very well, but was behind the Bull from the nod and finally bucked off at 5.5/6
He will be hitting it again tomorrow and Saturday.
