Browning A5 Year Of Manufacture

I cant figure this one out.16 gauge A5  serial # A 184--.   Letter and 5 numbers.I know the A indicates 16 gauge but the 5 numbers threw me.Maybe Remington manufacture during war years?

  From the book that I have if the serial number is on the side of the receiver then it is a Remington made gun

  That's it. War production Remington made some time between 1940 - 1947. Made over 14000 16ga, serial # range A5000 - A19450. Bob
