  I'm curious as to why, Mr P. Grammatically, it stands. If I had thought a bit harder I would have replaced "Insure" with Interpose, or (more thematically) Immunize.

  Admittedly, it is difficult to determine the intent. In the context, it would appear the word "ensure" may be more apropos, perhaps even assure.  Did you mean to suggest the virus is providing some financial compensation for a loss, such as to property or death?

  I meant to insure their place as demagogues. Ensure would have been better, but the acronym doesn't use an "e" so I used the first word that popped. Not the best one, though.
