Ruger 57
Does anyone own one or shoot one yet. I had the chance to grab one yesterday so I did. I had a case of 5.7x28 ammo and nothing to shot it through so I thought why not. 570.00 out the door so I think I did good. What are your thoughts

I love my Ruger 1911s. I have not liked any other Ruger semi-auto, and no longer own any of them. I sincerely hope your mileage varies! 0 -
A friend ordered one. As soon as he gets it, we are going to try it out at my neighbor's range. I'm very interested in shooting it. May have to spend some more of my guvmint check! 0 -
To me it sounds like a real hoot to shoot. I have zero use for a 57 but I checked out prices when I first heard about it and you flat stole the one you bought! 0 -
The 5.7 is quite an impressive round. The little projectiles go straight thru car bodies, sheet metal and other objects where 38s, 380, and 9mm do not. An FN 9 costs around a grand and a half. Ammo has been very expensive and with few manufacturers. Coincidentally sales of the FN 5.7 have been poor and both the pistols and ammo rumored on the verge of distinction.
IMHO, with Ruger introduction of a 5.7 at a realistic price, the 5.7 will be popular and sell like toilet paper in NYC.
Further, I would expect more manufacturers to start making ammo thus ammo price will drop significantly. Like any new Ruger, prices will be high due to demand as they are at present, but will come down to a reasonable level within a few.
Again and this is my opinion, I believe Ruger saved the 5.7 and other manufacturers will join the 5.7 bandwagon, even Glock.0
