There has got to be a story behind that.

Most interesting encounter I've had was with a skunk. Had a tailgater glued to my butt one night who wouldn't pass. Low and behold, woodspussy came out of the tall grass in front of me. No time to brake, and I don't swerve for animals. Stopped at the c-store for my newspaper and nut muffin and this guy pulls in right behind me. Moron got out of his fancy luxury sedan covered with puke.

I had to brake hard for a hen turkey yesterday. No other cars around but my dog in the backseat did one of those slow motion weightless flips and ended up in the front seat along side me.

We stopped for a moment and watched the turkey finish her crossing and I swear my dog talked to me as the tail feathers disappeared into the brush.    Pretty sure it was something that would translate into; Dumb hunter, worse dipchit driver!  :#

Talked to a power transmission company inspector yesterday. He was out checking the high voltage transmission line right of ways for encroaching vegetation. In the past month he has put in a lot of miles over 3 or 4 counties and was surprised by the amount of wildlife he has seen this year. However he has seen much less roadkill than normal so I guess the reduced traffic from everything being shut down has had one positive effect. Bob

It’s getting really bad here, the doorbell has only rang once in the past five weeks and it was just a mosquito asking where everyone was at.

Glad you're aware of the problem and are being careful.  Unfortunately, we have a couple of real a....holes who put bait on the shoulder of the road just to attract dear.  The one guy drives a rusty old pick up and the other has a beat up old Ford.  The one with the pick up doesn't even bother to wash off the blood, just throws them in the back and drives off.  The other guy guts them right there by the road, leaves the gut pile, and throws them in the trunk.  They both brag about what a "public service" they're doing!

Traffic count on our main road by my house is down by at least 2/3rds . In my limited travel thru the neighborhood I have seen no difference in road kill . Wildlife sightings in woods , fields around house are normal . But then again I live in the country on a farm and the thousand plus acres of land behind the house is uninhabited

Live in the woods here, deer, bear, about a 500 pounder made the trip across the porch couple nights ago,  hicoons, possums, just about anything in the wild here, seeing no more or no less.
