Knife Refinishing
A friend inherited several knives, which he is looking to sell. One is a large Gerber folder. The body is brass with stone (maybe marble) slab inserts. It's has a walnut display box & in original condition, except that the brass is tarnished. Would it help or hurt the value to polish the brass.

Flitz it just on the brass. Marble don't like acid so be careful of the product you might use. Value wise I doubt if it'll lower it. It'll help it move faster if polished. Besides it's Gerber and it's mass produced. Do nothing and I reckon it'll sell about the same as if you polished it.
I wonder if you'll recoup your time, thing of Flitz and a rag?

I never liked Gurber. I think it's like guns, done correctly no real harm. 0 -
Thanks. I used an old tube of Flitz & rag. Now we'll see how it sells.
