physical difference small vs. large pistol primers?

I have some .38 Speer plastic indoor rounds. They call for Large Pistol Primers but all I have on hand are Small Pistol Primers.  Clearly they wouldn't provide the same velocity but will the small ones fit in the primer pocket?

  No, the small primers are several thousandths smaller and will not fit the primer cup.

  The diameter of small pistol primers is smaller than large pistol primers. They wont work
