I don't know how old your son is, but congrats to him for getting that wish list item out of the way. Acquiring a Barrett M82 is a life-achievement.

You've gotta go along so you can send us a range report!

he has talked about one for a long time . a few years back he became a licensed FFL ( manufacturing ) I know he recently sold off several Full Auto  guns on GB   some to  fund the Barrett  one he had  is / was a 1918 browning I told him not to sell but I think it went also  . but I know what it like to set your sights on a gun and working to get it .
I am happy for him . he has  my passion for guns but taken that  well beyond what I could ever do ,, but at least I get to play with them .  I have a nephew ( well more than one buying up guns  they all come to our house to shoot ) but one stands out for just got to have it   (his brother not far behind )  any way he  just bought a 300  Weatherby magnum  not long ago  and about to order  460 Weatherby soon ..  just to have one   and again  I get the fun of shooting with out the cost ...

Be careful out there, those 700 grainers can ricochet for a long way, and talk about a zip, you will never forget the sound.

next time he has it over I will take some photos .
looks like this one ( from the internet )  I did not notice what scope he had on it but seemed to be a nice one , eye relief was least 4 inches or more  thank goodness it would leave a mark if up close and personal
I think he said it weighs 37 pounds ?
and yes it has  a bit of recoil LOL    I only sent one round down the tube just for the feel he dumped the other 19 down range
not that I afford to feed it but shooting all day would be no fun by the end of the day my old shoulder would be screaming

I bought a $50 raffle ticket for one of Barrett's earlier models. Sure wish I had won it! Someone asked me what I would do with it, I told them I'd make a few bucks with because I knew some people who would pay me $10 to shoot it ONCE. I have a place to shoot one on my friend's ranch up to 1000 yards.
