why did Barnes

    Because people like you didn't buy enough.  When you find ammo/bullets your rifle likes stock up.   I found this out by not stocking up when I should've.

    Barnes got bought out some time ago. They dropped many of the old classics.

    I still have four boxes of PMC ammo loaded with the 180 grain Barnes XLC bullet and 5 loaded with the 180 grain X-bullet.

    The XLC bullets were actually more of a PIA to manufacturer because the bullets had to be sized smaller to allow for the coating thickness. Then came the failure of that coating on occasion due to chipping. When Barnes perfected their TSX design and now the TTSX design, there is no need for the XLC bullets.

    It was a very destructive decision on the part of Remington and their puppet masters to be allowed to go on a buying spree with the end result being the loss of several established companies due to their typical mismanagement.  Barnes was one of their targets.
