9MM reloaders, a caution on brass.
I have been loading some 9MM on the Dillon 650. My sizer die is a Hornaday TIN coated die I got years ago. It is not as good as a carbide but with just a hint of lube on the cases it runs fine.
You can feel what is going on when operating a press and there was a very noticeable increase in the force need to size a case. I stopped the stroke at about 3/4's knowing something was not right.
The issue turned out to be case called MAXXtech. It is a case with an extremely thick step about a 1/3 of the way from the mouth. The case is about three times thicker all the way to the base.
If I would have tried to load this round the powder capacity would have been greatly reduced. The step in the case would have prevented proper bullet seating. Either way this brass should be looked for and not used unless you have load data for it. Reading reports on other forums the Ammo is made in Bosina and is to be avoided with lots of issues.
