Will Chesney and his K9 "Cairo" were some of the first into Pakistan to take out Bin laden. In 2012 he suffered a brain injury from a hand grenade blast, that got him "retired" from the Seals. He suffers from short term memory loss, and that keeps him from holding down a job to support himself.
He's close friends with my sisters family in Houston, and they have been helping him out, while he got this book done and in print. My Sister has my signed copy on it's way, so I haven't got to read it yet. She says I'll like it, and it's more dog story than war story.
My great niece Claire, is now the owner of "Walter", son of Cairo. 4 yr old Claire and Walter do daily perimeter patrols, but I'm not sure who is getting trained. :)

    Why does he not qualify for Combat related Disability? That should be a given in the described situation.

    Ken, I don't know the details, but from what I gather, the disability itself has impaired him from getting through the VA red tape? It is one of the things the family is helping him get done. I believe until recently, he was pretty much a homeless transient, but things are looking up for him now. I'll update you with anything new I learn.
    Thanks for buying the book too! Read it out loud to Buddy, we'll be expecting his review as well! :)

    I'm not much on audio books but it's interesting this one is read by the author. I hope he does well enough they publish a paperback, too.

    When a Veteran has obvious Combat related Disability, (especially brain related,) the VA needs to make sure issues like this are walked through. For a guy like that to be "transient," and homeless, is a crime. Yet Illegals get assistance. What is wrong with this picture?

    Will has good people around him now, making sure he's on the right track, and making sure good things happen for him. It's not my place to get any deeper than that, but I'll just say that Eric Trump is in the circle of friends. If the book does well, it will set him up to live independent, and all the rest will fall into place.
