Control the Food infrastructure and You Control The People.
Activating guard soldiers is the latest attempt to contain the disease, which has forced a growing number of slaughterhouses and meat-processing plants to slow or halt operations.
The disruptions are stoking concerns for eventual fresh-meat shortages in grocery stores as well leaving some farmers without a market for their animals. That’s pushing down prices for hogs and cattle, while making meat more expensive. Wholesale pork posted its biggest three-day gain in six years.
“At some point we’re going to have to be talking about euthanizing hogs, and we’re not that far from it,” Reynolds told reporters. “And that would be devastating, not only for the food supply but for the cost of food going forward.”

Does that mean side meat at three times what it should be will get cheaper? Eating high on the hog is cheaper than the side meat the poor folks used to eat. How about overpriced chicken wings? I remember buying chicken wings at prices 1/3 or less than thighs and legs, not anymore. But then people used to cook chicken at home instead of going to the sports bar. Supply and demand I know, but wings and side meat baffle me a little. 0 -

There sure isn't a shortage of chicken wings in my area! Still selling for 3+ bucks a pound here. Wings have always been my favorite chicken part but I refrain from paying these premium prices for mostly the weight of bones. Will buy on sale but sales seem to be extinct in post virus America. 0 -
If there is a second wave of the pandemic this summer or fall then buying some canned meat you can stand to eat may be wise.serf
