Patriots Day
Today is Patriots Day, the 245th anniversary of the start of the Revolutionary War at the battle of Lexington and Concord. Who on here had an ancestor or two that fought in the Revolution and may have been in that engagement? I had an ancestor, Nathanial Parker, who, according to family tradition, fought at the battle of Bunker Hill and may have been on Lexington Green that fateful day also.
"By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard 'round the world."
We could use a bunch of those farmers today.

I do not know how many ancestors fought in the War of The Revolution. I do know My Great, great (not sure how many right now) Grandfather fought in it and received a land grant in the Carolina's. His son Henry fought in the war of 1812 and also received a land grant. 0
