    If I was a high end collector and it was factory engraved instead of aftermarket then maybe. I'm not and it isn't but at least it is a charity auction. Bob

    I don't care for the plywood grips ,  an engraved gun going for big bucks it should at least have some custom handmade grips.

    Joe,
    I agree and disagree with your assessment of the Python.
    On the + side the engraving is tastefully done. The artist obviously spent time studying the immortal Rudolph Kornbrath !
    It's a Python and has my favorite 6 inch barrel length.
    The Colt Royal Blue is my preferred finish ! Nothing compares to that hot charcoal finish. See my post Turnbulll 1911 for an excellent example. > Absolutely stunning work ! > An aside note,  some Pythons shoot better better then others.
    I had a [the one that got away] Dan Wesson 6" Mod. 15-2 .357 that would chew up Pythons all day long with factory Rem. 158 grain soft points. Damn I miss that  revolver > the most accurate handgun I ever owned. Those 6 rounds I would trust my life on and never feel under gunned !

    Would I turn down that gun?  Oh heck no,but not my first choice.  I am glad it did bring a nice amount for charity.
