I read the dems are trying to get support to give "everybody " 16 and older 2k a month until the country is  out of the virus panic mode
also being on SS as my only income .     honest  I was shocked/ surprised they included  ss recipient's  in the pay out then I thought 100's of thousands  people who have never worked or paid taxes get a free ride everyday  (I help pay there way for 45 + years ) and  they will be getting even more money now
so  I thought just line up at the trough even if I have to back up to get it  ;) ( a old saying referring to   embarrassed to face them  and take the money )
can you imagine the millions the close buddies and overseer's  and political bed partners will pocket off this hand out  ther drooling already , what they give the  people on ss    will be peanuts

Shouldn't pick winners and losers, though the government often does.   Many people have went right on working and didn't lose anything either.  But I don't like the whole thing anyway.

I agree. The "free money" should have gone ONLY to people who, due to the virus, are out of work, or working a lot less, took a pay cut, etc. BUT, the dimocrats intent was simply to use public money to buy votes, as usual.

People on unemployment payments are already getting extra money on top of regular unemployment payments, plus the 1200.

I would hazard a guess that for everyone that had a loss due to this pandemic there is someone who either didn't lose anything or even came out ahead. A lot of the "necessary" retailers have given their employees raises for working during the outbreak. Some of the major retailers have gone on a hiring spree to meet customer demand - Krogers, Amazon, major drugstore chains etc... A lot of people are able to work from home saving money on gas, parking, and other expenses. Families are having to eat at home saving a lot on the cost of food vs restaurants. No wasted money on sporting events, concerts, theaters and other forms of entertainment. Welfare, SS and pensions just keep on coming with no interruption. Gasoline is the cheapest it has been in a long time so those that still commute by car are saving money. Insurance companies are giving rebates. As I have said before the only actions the fed should have undertaken is to bolster each states unemployment funds and I see the logic in the small business grants so there will be businesses to work at when this is over. Everything else that has gone out is nothing but gravy for the masses to show how benevolent the government is. Bob

Jeez, some people can cry or whine over anything.  It is only going to cost us a few trillion in the end, so what is the big deal?

You know something, you're right. To quote one of our illustrious politicians "At this point, what difference does it make"?
We have got to get green font back. Bob

Doesn't cost us anything. Just print fiat money & devalue the currency. The "national debt" no longer has any meaning as no one ever expects to pay it off. Just keep devaluing the currency. Any attempt to pay off the debt would be a disaster as it would cause deflation. At the end of the Clinton administration the people in charge of the Federal Reserve were in a panic over the threat of devaluation caused by the plan to pay off the debt. George the Lesser solved that problem.

I personally think that there should not be ANY payout at all.  If a family can't live for 30 - 45 days off their savings, let them starve.

I was raised in the 30's and 40's and know what it is to be hungry all the time.

Politicians jumped on the band wagon because the are afraid the won't get the votes.

Apparently the government is taking Joe Biden's advice from his town hall speech that he made in July 2009. He said we need to spend our way out of debt.

    Joe Biden:
"We Have to Go Spend Money to Keep From Going Bankrupt"

Like another poster said the last time this subject came up: Spend the money locally to stimulate the economy.
If you feel guilty about taking the money, pass it on to someone who can use it.

Yep, spend it locally and help out the people in your area.   I would prefer it wasn't happening at all.  Like everyone else I'll be paying taxes that support it and the spending power of what I do have will decrease as the government printing money can only cause inflation.   I don't see a reason to feel bad about taking it since we're paying for it.  We're already getting hurt by it being done, not taking it just hurts us more.

lot of local news  asking people who are working or do not really need the money to  donate  it to a food back or charity
also on the  local news   one  fellow some where around Columbus  ( I will bet many more ) had five million +  deposited in to there account  by uncle Sam .  he called it in to report and they pulled it back out of course fairly fast
