Col. Mad Mike Hoare
Anyone of you know or remember this guy. He was a mercenary back in the mid 60's in the Congo. I remember reading about this guy in SOF. I always liked his stories and read one of his books. So today I went on search to find anything in print by him and checked out Amazon & Ebay and they actually had 4 of his books.
The drawback were the ridiculous prices being charged. There were 2 books in the $50 range, 2 more in the $80 range and like 6 more in the $150.00 + range. What is it with Amazon & Ebay's book prices ??? I have a copy of the book The Great Rifle Controversy by Edward Clinton Ezell of the Small Arms of the World series.
I looked to see what they were going for on Amazon at the time and it was like $480 WTF. Today I think it was down to $128.
PS I did find a paper back on Ebay for $9.00 hope I have powerful enough reading glasses to read it.

Sam06 I believe had some comments on Mike Hoare on here not too long ago. He’s very familiar with that part of the world and it’s history.
(I see the auto censor got us again.)

Don't you love having the suits at GBHQ controlling the auto censor? Thanks to the Forum Control Act of 2020, Nunn and I aren't even allowed to see it, much less access it. 0 -

Great guy and his book Congo Mercenary is a must read for people who like war story's.
I spent a little over a year in DR Congo and went to a lot of the battlefields he recounts in the book especially around Kisingani(Stanlyville). I even have some pictures of old M3 scout cars that were destroyed in the battle and are still there. He just died a short time ago.
