Many years ago when sat TV just came around, we had "anything goes" TV. A young guy was here during turkey season and he sat up 1/2 the night watching werewolf and Dracula movies. Next morning, I took him out and he was waving his flashlight like something was after him. I parked him in a good spot and took his flashlight. I guess he had a pretty rough 15 minutes before first light. Everyone else thought it was funny as all getout but I sure as heck wouldn't have walked back to where he sat cause I heard him rack a shell in the chamber as I walked away. 0 -

I've been stalked by a black bear in Canada(confirmed by another hunter) and a cougar in Montana(confirmed by tracks in the snow) w/o even noticing it happened but many many times right here in the MidWest I've felt threatened by some unseen "thing". I've seen dogs alert for no apparent reason and then felt the tingle myself. 3 -
My dad was stalked by a black bear in PA, a few years ago. It followed him for three miles, back to his house. He said he was never so scared in all his life. He actually called me on my cell, to tell me where he was, in case something happened to him. This was I could go find him for my mom. Freaked me out.Mobuck said:I've been stalked by a black bear in Canada(confirmed by another hunter) and a cougar in Montana(confirmed by tracks in the snow) w/o even noticing it happened but many many times right here in the MidWest I've felt threatened by some unseen "thing". My wife watches that an a few other type programs. Makes my daughter freak out. It gets you thinking about the noises you hear in the night. Or the lack of them when the regular woods noise go dead quite.

Stupid like, I watched Dracula 2000, about a day before a solo night hike, (after work around 10/11 pm or so) about 7 miles in to meet my Buddies. Big mistake.
At one point about 5 miles in, I had rounded a lake, crossed a tricky rocky creek crossing and proceeded into a short stretch of immature pines. I froze and looked hard. I swear to god this one pine looked like a guy with arms folded just standing there quietly. Creepy.
I made good time on that hike. My Buds, most all hardcore prior Service Military, (Rangers, etc.) thought it was hysterical.
We'd also periodically hide sometimes, when we knew another buddy was coming in solo, or give false "Bear!" reports on the radio. Good times. We still laugh about those times.
I also remember in Elementary school in El Paso,TX. Back around 1967 (6 years old) our school would have like 25cent movie nights. I walked there a few miles by myself to go watch a movie. Scariest B&W version of the Wolfman I have ever seen. (Not the one with Lon Chaney) Only time I have ever seen that one. Got out. You guessed it. Pitch dark. Made it about 30 feet before something scared the sheeit out of me. Probably the fastest I have ever run. 😮
