I agree with you on the no explanation/description, but it is probably one of the new high pressure large caliber air guns worthy of taking a hog or deer. They are not cheap. Stupid to not have brought that to light on something you are trying to sell though.

I know just about nothing about air rifles. My first thought is you have to be joking, $4,000 for an air rifle??? You must understand, from my perspective, an air rifle is a BB gun. Think Daisy! 
But when I looked at those pictures I must admit that it sure don't look like no Daisy! I can see that that has to be expensive rifle but I don't know if that price is fair or unreasonable. 0 -
It's for 4 position 10 meter international match competition use - Olympic level courses of fire...
Probably some collegiant / class C or B affiliated regional NCAA league usage...
One presumes that the customer / nationally ranked athlete looking for this gun already knows the specs and features - and the pool of folk who could or would require a gun of this type is rather limited - there is little chance that someone not ensconced and informed of this world of match level OTC courses would happen upon this listing and have questions or decides on a whim to buy it without specific need or knowledge...
And the price is fair.

That model variation can sometimes be found for a bit less (a few hundred $$$), but it is almost always special order, which could mean a 4 week wait. This rifle is sitting there ready to ship, which is worth the slight premium to a lot of buyers. As Mike said, anyone looking for one of those rifles already knows what it is. 0 -

And speaking of Daisy - don't count Daisy out...
I achieved the rating of Distinguished Expert in NRA sanctioned competition - where rank and tier and status are based solely on sanctioned match scores - from for the record international rules 10 meter indoor 4 position full course of judged and supervised fire...
And laugh at me if you so desire - I achieved my distinguished expert rating and became nationally ranked using a Daisy power line manual pump pellet gun...
Granted it was a bit of an unusual rifle made available through the CMP and the NRA in close partnership with Daisy...
While the action was manufactured by Daisy - the barrel was produced by Lomar Walther - the free style adjustable stock was the work of Avanti - the precision dioptor target sights a Parker Hale design...
Certainly the cheapest and closest to the proverbial sacred cow the holy and worthy of sainthood Daisy Red Ryder BB gun...
