Another pit bull story
The pup ran up to them and was wagging his tail so hard, his whole hind end wagged.
They petted him and then they came to the bus to get the food. Pup came bounding up the bus steps and sailed up in my lap, trying to lick me in the face. Mom said he was the friendliest dog and would get in the car with anybody because he loved to ride.

I couldn’t see the looks on thei teacher’s faces, but I know they were startled when the dog came around the house. I kidded them about which one was going to beat the other back on the bus.

Good to hear that story for a change! Its a shame they all cant have that kind of disposition. Next time the story could change as the breed is very unpredictable. 0 -

The more people I meet the more I like my dog.
I like dogs, but I do not want any of them type dogs around anywhere close to me.
Hope them teachers learned something also. Just because they are teachers and getting off a school bus does not automatically make them welcome to bad dogs. (and lots of people) I do not go up to ANYONES door that I do not know previously. Just not safe now days.0 -
Only one of those quotes was mine, Okie? 0 -

A nice brindle.
Buddy's body type, face and ears looked just like that when I adopted him at 9mo. of age, per the vet. Buddy is Scooby doo tan, with golden eyes, black muzzle and Johnny Dep eye liner. Most unusual for a Pit.
Someone here posted (sorry I forget who.) That they had raised Pits crossed with Rhodesian Ridgebacks in W. NC. (Pretty much where I am from.) As "Catch dogs." And that Buddy looks like he came from that stock.
I've always noticed when he is facing away from you, he does have that destinctive ridgeback on his back hair/spine.
Just got back from a ride to Boone and back to drop off some essential items off to be taken up to my Mom. He was leaping around when I pulled out his chest harness, and he realized he was going for a ride. (His favorite thing.)
When we pulled into the Hospital entrance they have a Sheriffs RV/Trailer set up to stop people etc. Rolled the passenger window down. Buddy sitting calmly. The Sheriff deputy asked if he could pet him. I said "Sure, thanks for asking first." They both got some love.
He commented, "That is a great dog." I replied, "Yes, he is."

My German Shepard is the same way. He will get in a car with anyone. He loves people. 0 -
Zeke, the best dog ever. Been gone three years. I have a new dog but I still miss him.
